After a good half an hour of sitting there and freaking out, Thorn finally cam to his senses. "Hey," he said to Victorique, "Don't you have a case to be working on for Jag?" His voice was quiet, but he continued, "I think you're smart enough to do it yourself, and my bro helped you yesterday. Jag would have wanted you to finish the case." Thorn turned and looked back at his brother's mangled body. "I'll stay here and look after him while you're gone."

Victorique looked up from her tear soaked hands at Thorn. Her eyes hurt from crying and she found it difficult to focus on the boy. She felt kind of like she was unwanted here and she didn't blame him. She nodded her head and stood up. She walked out of the room and got into her car. She totally went to wherever it was that Thorn's motorcycle was and got it for him though. She left it in the parking lot and hoped that he'd notice it. He'd better notice it. Then she drove off to work on the epic case.

Thorn hadn't meant to just kick her out like that. He just felt that it was the right thing to say at the time. He continued to pace back and forth in the room. Now he was alone with his brother, kind of like it used to be. But now his brother was the one that was hurt. That was unusual, and Thorn didn't know how to deal with it.

Victorique tried to clear her mind of this morning's events, but it wasn't going down so well. But she ended up getting to the Masako's house anyway, and was not hit by a car. She walked up and knocked on the door, hoping that she could catch Blythe by himself. He didn't seem like he would try to cover anything up, and if he did, he didn't seem like he'd do a very good job at it.

A small boy, somewhere between five and seven, opened the door to the Masako's house. His hear was black like his mothers, but his eyes looked like his fathers. A call from a near-by room came, "Jason! Don't open the door to strangers!" The brown haired man from the day befre came to the door and scooped his son up into his arms. He stared at the woman at the door, then said, "Oh, you're that lawyer from yesterday. Can I help you?"

Victorique watched the scene with the little boy, then looked up at Blythe. "Yes, Hello. Ah, I have a few more questions for you... may I come in?" she asked, smiling. She was trying her hardest to look like an innocent intern who would totally not use the information that this man gave her against his wife in court the next day.

"Uh, sure." Blythe said awkwardly,"But Kira is upstairs somewhere taking a shower...I think..." He looked lot in thought and slightly confused for a moment, then came back to reality as he said, "Well, you can come in and wait for her I guess. Where's your friend?" He motioned for her to move into the living room. He set his son down on the ground and flopped himself down on the couch. The young boy ended up following his father onto the couch.

Victorique came in and sat on a chair in the room. "No, I can just talk to you. That's perfectly all right. It'd be good to have someone else's imput, you know?" she said, and then swallowed hard, "Mr. Pontmercy is currently unavailable." she said, another friendly smile creeping over her face so that she wouldn't feel the need to burst into tears again. "Has your wife ever had an issue with her brother or Jared? Any fights over anything at all...?" she asked, changing the subject to what she should be talking about. She pulled out her notebook and pen and readied herself to take notes.

Blythe quickly shook his head, maybe even a little too quickly. "O-Of course not," he said, clearing his throat before he continued on, "Why would you think that? Kira loves her family! She would do anything for them!" He put one arm around his son awkwardly, as if trying to comfort himself or maybe even shield himself from the questions that he didn't particularly want to answer.

Victorique gave Blythe an understanding look. "Are you sure, Mr. Masako? Everyone has their arguments, their disagreements..." she trailed off, looking down and away for some dramatic effect. Then after a few moments she looked back up at Blythe and said, "And any information you have can seriously help this trial be over and done. I'm sure you want this to just all blow over, right?" she said, her voice warm and friendly.

"Of course!" Blythe exploded, "I want this to me over more than you know...but I don't know what you want from me. Every family has their arguments, but I can't think of anything that was particularly bad. If you're looking for something that can help you in this case, you won't find it here." He ran his hand through Jason's hair, who was now curled up on his lap. Blythe awkwardly looked away from Victorique, wishing this would be over soon.

Victorique could tell that Blythe was getting a little nervous about this. He was definitely hiding something, she knew that for sure. It wasn't as easy getting information out of him as she had thought, but she needed to present something to Jagger when he woke up. "It doesn't even have to be 'particularly bad'. It can just be something minor, maybe something you don't even realize could be important." she said.

"Look, nothing happened, alright?" Blythe shouted suddenly, getting defensive. Seeing his son stir in his arms, he quited his voice down a little bit. "She was upset because her brother wouldn't lend us any money after I lost my job. They stopped talking after that. That's the only thing I can remember." he added, hoping that the woman would finally be satisfied.

Victorique decided to use his outburst of anger as a way to escape. She'd gotten some good information and that's all she needed. She pretended like it hadn't affected her at all, then stood up. "Alright. Well, I guess you're right. Thanks for your time. Good-bye." she led herself outside and into her car, jotted down what Blythe had just said to her exactly, then sped off to the hospital to check on Jagger.

Back at the hospital, Thorn had been pacing back and forth or the last hour or so. His brother hadn't gotten any better, but he hadn't gotten any worse either. Word had already gotten out around the office that Jagger was in the hospital, and a large amount of flowers and chocolates were now flooding the room. Thorn opened up a box of chocolates and popped one into his mouth. He had already eaten two other boxes of chocolate and had no problem starting on his third.
