"I have a request to make of you." Stormshadow meowed, standing up TALL AND GRAND.

Cinderstar looked back and forth between her deputy and the two apprentices (or well, to her one was a kit) standing near him.
"And what would that be?" she asked, rather curiously.

Stormshadow stepped in between the two APPRENTICES before speaking. "Mothkit has proven himself many times that even though he is blind in one eye, he can do anything a regular apprentice can do. I request that he be given his apprentice name and a mentor."

Cinderstar's eyes widened. She wasn't expecting her deputy to be so bold.
She growled, "You can't just tell me what to do, Stormshadow. The Clan Leader's word is the Warrior Code."

"So long as the word is for the good of the Clan... I would follow it. But in this case, I feel you are weakening the Clan by letting a perfectly capable cat stay in the nursery for all his life." Stormshadow meowed, grandly. He had planned his argument in his head many times before.

"Stormshadow," Cinderstar mewed, her voice turning less agressive, "I picked you over Bonestep as my deputy for a reason. I know I'm not the easiest cat to get along with, and your personality would balance out mine. But there is a reason I was chosen as deputy first. I know what is best for my Clan."

"Well then how about the whole Clan votes. Surely the members of ShadowClan know what is best for them." Stormshadow meowed, retreating to his back up plan. "The vote can decide. If the Clan thinks he's capable, he can be apprenticed. If not-- well I won't bug you about it again."

Cinderstar nodded her head, "That is a good plan, Stormshadow." She obviously thought she would be sided with by the rest of the Clan.
She leaped onto the high....STUMP and called out, "May all cats that can catch their own prey gather beneath this high stump thing for a Clan Meeting!"

WILLOW'S HALF OF SHADOWCLAN SAT BENEATH THE HIGHSTUMPYTHING.
Sparrowpaw happily brushed her muzzle to Mothkit's before bounding over to the HIGH STUMP.

High stump.
"Today, we shall cast a vote. I do not think Mothkit can become an apprentice, but Stormshadow is under the impression that he can. We will get this done quickly. Cats of ShadowClan, if you do not think Mothkit can become a worthy warrior, move outside of the Nursery. If you do think that he can become a warrior, move to the camp entrance. Stormshadow, Mothkit, Swanfeather, and myself will not vote."
Mothkit moved over to stand underneath the STUMP OF DOOM so he could watch what was going on.
Swanfeather sat in the entrance of her den. She understood why she couldn't vote. Cinderstar didn't want StarClan taking any part of this vote. It was ShadowClan's choice to make.

Sparrowpaw walked to the camp entrance, followed by Twilightwing, Brokensong, Nightfeather, Tawnyspark and Smokecloud. All of Willow's cat's would love Mothkit because he was so amazing.

Right away, Bonestep, Darkember, Badgerpaw, Foxpaw, Dogpaw, and Mudpaw moved to the Nursery.
Addertail followed them shortly after.
Nightstripe moved to the camp entrance, followed by Iceheart and Goldenrod.
Duskpaw bounced after the rest of her family (not Addertail. He's not loved).
Poisonpaw slowly walked over toward the Nursery.
Tigerfire sat alone in the middle of the camp. He looked over at Stormshadow for a moment before gazing up at his leader. "It does not matter what I think," he said to her, "If I vote to send him out, the Warrior group wins by one. If I vote to make him a Warrior, the Warrior group wins by two."
Cinderstar narrowed her eyes and directed her gaze over to her deputy. She was silent for a moment, then turned back to her Clan.
"I will force no cat to mentor this kit. He will only become an apprentice if some cat is willing. If not, it cannot be helped. It is what StarClan wishes."

Sparrowpaw was almost discouraged with Cinderstar's words. Who would take up Mothkit's training? Suddenly, Sparrowpaw's mother, Twilightwing stepped forward and Sparrowpaw's eyes SPARKLED.
Twilightwing padded up a bit in front of Tigerfire and meowed, "I will take on Mothkit as my own apprentice, if no one else wishes to."

Cinderstar stared down at Twilightwing. Finally she spoke, "Mothkit. From this day until you get your warrior name, you will be known as Mothpaw. Mentor him well, Twilightwing." She then jumped down from the STUMP and headed over to her den. She ducked inside without even looking at her deputy.
Mothkit ran forward to touch noses with Twilightwing. He was so thankful!

Twilightwing touched her nose to her new apprentice. Sparrowpaw had made sure that she got a full explanation of how well Mothkit had been doing every day when they went out to train. Suddenly small paw steps came thundering towards the two cats. "Mothpaw! Mothpaw!" Sparrowpaw practically sang as she leaped onto her friend.
