Smokesong looked up at Sunblaze, his eyes narrowed.
"What will be fine? There's nothing wrong!" he hissed.

"Clearly," Sunblaze mewed, resting her tail on Smokesong's shoulder, "there is." she didn't get why he was so worked up about this. He should take a chill pill. Or some marigold.

Smokesong glared at Sunblaze, then sighed and turned his head away.
"Lightbreeze. When we were kits we did everything together. Then I got tired of her following me around and I started to go on adventures by myself. Now she's found Flameshadow to replace me."

"I doubt that she's trying to replace you." Sunblaze mewed, trying to comfort the tom. She felt bad for him. "Just because she might have found a mate doesn't mean she doesn't love you just the same. I'm sure she wouldn't react like that if you took on a mate."

"Yeah, because she already has a mate. What if she really doesn't care for Flameshadow, or he doesn't care for her, and she's unhappy and it's all my fault for avoiding her!" Smokesong exploded.

"Don't make assumptions. You don't know what exactly is going on!" Sunblaze tried convincing Smokesong. "Maybe we should both talk to her, and she can explain to you what's happening. I'm sure it'll be fine and you'll laugh later for making such silly guesses."

"You look tired." Sunblaze decided, looking at Smokesong. "Why don't you go and sleep?" she suggested, feeling tired herself.

"Yeah. Guess I will." Smokesong mewed, remembering that he hadn't slept since before dawn patrol. He headed into the warriors den and settled down in his nest next to his sister. Then he realized something. His sister!
"Lightbreeze?" he asked, jumping out of his nest.
"Hm?" asked Lightbreeze, blinking her eyes open.

Sunblaze walked into the warriors den to take her own nap when she suddenly realized that Smokesong had found Lightbreeze. She watched. Like a ninja.

"Why didn't you tell me you and Flameshadow were mates?" he asked.
"Because you've been ignoring me! How did you find out?" she responded.
"Sunblaze!"
"Well, maybe you shouldn't ignore me."
"Well maybe you shouldn't yell at me!"
"I had no intention of yelling at you!"
"You didn't?"
"No!"
"Oh...well..."
"..."
"So you aren't mating with Flameshadow because of me?"
"Of course not! What would give you that idea?"
"..."
"I'm going back to sleep, Smokesong." Lightbreeze sighed. She flicked her brother with her tail, showing she wasn't mad, then curled up in her nest and went back to sleep again.

Sunblaze watched the two siblings speak and felt kind of awkward. "See?" she said in a low voice. "It's just fine." she mewed before curling up and falling asleep.

"Thanks, Sunblaze." Smokesong whispered. Instead of sleeping next to his sister, he curled up next to Sunblaze and fell into sleep.
