Rowanblaze stood near the Moonpool and announced, "Could I have every cat's attention before we start?"

Swanfeather looked up at Rowanblaze, her eyes blinking in surprise.

"I believe it is time for Briarpaw to have her warrior name. She learned everything I had to teach her twice as fast as any other apprentice!"

He turned to Briarpaw and said, "I, Rowanblaze, medicine cat of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of a medicine cat, and with your help She will serve her Clan for many moons."

He looked around the clearing before continuing, "Briarpaw, do you promise to uphold the ways of a medicine cat, to stand apart from rivalry between Clan and Clan and to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life?"

Briarpaw was explosively happy that she was getting her full name now. She was quite surprised and anxious, but her words came out calmly and without flaw. "Yes, I do." she said, bowing her head.

Rowanblaze continued, "Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your true name as a medicine cat. Briarpaw, from this moment you will be known as Briarpetal. StarClan honors your kindness and determination, and we welcome you as a full medicine cat of ThunderClan."

The tom rested his muzzle on the new medicine cats head.

"Briarpetal! Briarpetal!" Swanfeather called.

Brightpool dipped her head at the black she-cat and mewed, "Good luck, Briarpetal." SHE KNEW THINGS. SHE WAS MAGIC LIKE THAT.

Snowbird called out with Swanfeather in unison, "Briarpetal! Briarpetal!"

Briarpetal bowed her head again to all of the cats and then turned and rested her gaze on Rowanblaze. "Thank you, Rowanblaze." she mewed to her mentor.

"Of course. I've learned to accept you, and you've been more of a help than a hindrence. Now, let's get this gathering over with." Rowanblaze purred. He moved over to the moonpool and took a drink of water.
