Sparrowsong was thankful for Lightbreeze's openmindedness to the situation. She nodded her thanks as she pushed through to the clearing, and padded gingerly over to Highledge(?). She turned to Cloudpool and Sparkshard and mewed quietly, not meeting either one of their gazes, "I'll take him to Foxstar..." and turning back around to face her leader's den. "F-Foxstar? There's a cat here... and... he wants to talk to you..." she struggled getting the words out.

Foxstar was sitting in her den, thinking, when she heard her name being called. She recognized the shy voice of Sparrowsong at the entrance to her den. She could just barely make out what the she-cat had said, and responded, "Come in." as she sat up and tried to make herself look important.

Brokensoul awkwardly padded into the den. He looked up at Foxstar, and inwardly thought, 'Wow, look at her! She looks so important.'
"Foxstar...my name is Brokensoul, and I come from ShadowClan. I need to ask a favor of you..." he started. He let that sink in before he continued.
"Cinderstar kicked me out of ShadowClan because I wasn't clanborn. I don't know what to do, and I got some advice to come here."
He was careful not to mention his 'fling' with Sparrowsong

Sparrowsong seemed more shocked than Foxstar but she tried not to let it bother her. There were a few moments of silence, and it made Sparrowsong tense. Foxstar was clearly not sure whether she should trust this cat or not. Feeling quite out of character, Sparrowsong padded up next to Brokensoul. "Brokensoul is a good cat. And... I know it's not my place... but I think we should at least hear him out completely?" she suggested, feeling strong about it at first but eventually letting her voice sink down to it's usual quiet tone.

Foxstar was a little surprised at the strength in Sparrowsong's voice. Even when it trailed off to a smaller tone, it held more strength than normal. "Alright... Well, first of all, what crime could you have committed to get kicked out of ShadowClan? Do not lie to me," she said with authority, then let her voice get softer, "I can be very understanding. So give me whatever you've got."

Brokensoul turned his head away. He had been surprised that Sparrowsong broke out of her natural element to protect him. He couldn't just get her into trouble like that! He wouldn't hurt her.
He shook his head and muttered, "I'm sorry. That's not my secret to share."

Sparrowsong knew that Foxstar wouldn't take that kind of answer so easily. She was very protective of her Clan and wasn't going to accept a cat into ThunderClan after he was kicked out of his own Clan for a crime he wasn't willing to share.

"I don't want to endanger any of the lives of my Clan..." Foxstar meowed, curiously eying Sparrowsong as she shifted uneasily next to Brokensoul. Was she hiding something? She couldn't shake the fact that Sparrowsong looked even more uneasy than usual.

"I know, and I don't blame you." Brokensoul meowed, "All I can tell you is...Cinderstar didn't like my choice in mates. She kicked me out for that and not being clanborn. I suppose that was just...too many strikes against the warrior code?"

[J I N G O]

Foxstar nodded her head. As long as it wasn't anything that endangered the safety of her Clan she didn't see the point in kicking him out to fend for himself when he had the option to continue living the life he always had, just in another Clan. "Alright." she said and stood up. "As long as you pose no threat to my Clan... you may stay with us."

[amaterasu]

Brokensoul bowed his head to Foxstar, his new leader, and said, "Thank you, Foxstar, you won't regret this decision."
He turned and left the den, not saying anything to Sparrowsong as he did so. He climbed down from the highledge and sat at the bottom, looking around the camp. He wasn't sure what to do now, actually.

Sparrowsong nodded to Foxstar and left her den, hopping down to the bottom of the clearing with Brokensoul. Above her, Foxstar was standing on highledge, just as Sparrowsong thought she would do.

Foxstar called out the usually summons to gather the Clan around the bottom of the Highledge. She waited until every cat was present before announcing. "Cats of ThunderClan... we have a new member. I expect that every cat treat him just as you treat one another." she explained, hoping this didn't make Brokensoul feel awkward. She directed her soft gaze down at the Bramblepile colored tom and continued, "Brokensoul, previously from ShadowClan, has come to join us. I have made my decision and it is final. Welcome, Brokensoul." she finished before padding back into her den to look important.

"What is Foxstar thinking? Letting a ShadowClan cat into our Clan?" Smokesong hissed.

Lightbreeze glared at her brother, but said nothing more.

Gingerclaw had a confused look on her face. She wasn't welcoming, but she wasn't unwelcoming. She was just curious. Seeing that no one would answer her questions, or no one would have the ability to, she padded out of camp.

Rowanblaze had watched the goings-ons from the entrance to his den. He just shook his head slightly before returning back inside.

Brokensoul looked around at his new clanmates. He was grateful toward Foxstar for what she had done for him, but he wished he was back in ShadowClan. All of this had happened so fast!

Sparrowsong sat for a few moments before fully grasping what had happened. Desperate to get Brokensoul out of camp so they could speak, she turned to him and asked, "Would you like to go hunting? We still have yet to send a patrol out." she said, liking the fact that she could speak like this during the day time rather than just at night. She felt less awkward.

[amaterasu]

Brokensoul nodded his head and responded, "Yeah. I need to see the borders anyway. Or, at least the WindClan side."
He headed out of the camp, expecting Sparrowsong to follow. In fact, he hadn't even expected Sparrowsong to be willing to talk to him in front of her clanmates. But then again, he was now her clanmate too. Maybe she was just trying to look friendly?

Sparrowsong pushed away the curious glances she felt burning into her fur as she walked out of the camp. "We'll go over near the WindClan border to hunt and I can show you things on the way." she mewed. She waited til they were a good distance away from camp before asking, "So what happened? The full story..."

Brokensoul glanced at the shecat next to him, then turned back to look where he was walking. The forest wasn't too much different from his marshland, but still, it didn't hurt to be careful.
"When I got back I met Stormshadow, our deputy. He was quite upset that I had been so late to return, and sent me to see Cinderstar. She smelled ThunderClan on me right away, and didn't care to even hear me out. Do you remember that day when Addertail and Tigerfire caught us? Yeah, well they did tell Stormshadow, who told Cinderstar. Cinderstar kicked me out because I was breaking the warrior code. She also kicked me out because I wasn't clan born, that was just an extra bonus to her. She told me about how my mother...was really just my adopted mother. Icewing...she just took me in when I was found on their territory. I'm not a real Clan cat."

Sparrowsong felt guilt wash over her. She felt like it was half her fault that he had been kicked out. "I'm so sorry, Brokensoul!" she said, feeling overwhelmed with emotions. "She wouldn't have kicked you out if you weren't meeting with me.. I'm so sorry..!" she apologized again.
