Sunblaze was lying in the nursery for the second day in a row a depressed lump of fur and bones. She had barely touched any freshkill that was brought by the single apprentice in camp and hadn't spoken a word since the incident with Smokesong and Fawnstep. She let out a sigh, staring at the bramble wall protecting the nursery.

Lightbreeze got up and padded over to Sunblaze. She sat down next to her and set her tail on the cat.
"Why don't you go for a walk or something, Sunblaze? You don't need to be so depressed. It's bad for your kits!" she mewed.

Sunblaze raised her head when Lightbreeze came over to her. She shook her head. "I don't feel like walking." she mewed, her voice emotionless, and put her head back down on her paws. Flowers and chocolates.

Lightbreeze sighed. She stood up and walked out of the Nursery. Seeing her brother sitting outside, she walked over to the tom and scolded, "Go talk to Sunblaze! She hasn't left the Nursery in days! She won't talk to anyone!"
Smokesong sighed. He had been trying to sunbathe. He stood up and grabbed a piece of fresh kill. He walked into the nursery, spotted SUnblaze, and set the mouse down in front of her. He then sat down next to her.
"Hey." he purred, "How are you?"

Sunblaze lifted her head again when she was greeted by another cat. Smokesong. Where was the chocolates and flowers? All he could come up with was a dead mouse? StarClanJesusCat I love you too. She sniffed the mouse but didn't eat it, just put her head back down on her paws again. "I'm fine." she mewed.

"If you were fine, you would eat that mouse." SMokesong argued.
He asked in a more serious voice, "Are you mad at me? You know I never meant to hurt you. I fathered Fawnstep's kits before I fathered yours."

Sunblaze looked up at Smokesong again, "Did you love her at all?" she asked him. She would feel bad whether he answered yes or no. But it would be nice to know. And maybe, if he gave her some flowers and chocolates, the answer wouldn't matter...

"No." Smokesong answered quickly, shaking his head. It was only partially true. He might have loved her at one point, and he had enjoyed the attention Fawnstep had given her, but there wasn't anything left there. Sunblaze made him feel like an equal instead of a StarCLanJesusCat, and sometimes that was for the best.

Sunblaze moved her and her fat preggo belly a bit closer to Smokesong and pressed her face against his shoulder/neck thing area. She didn't say anything though. But this was practically her saying I FORGIVE YOU, LOVER.

Smokesong licked Sunblaze on the top of her head. "Now why don't you get something to eat? Those kits would probably love that." he meowed.

Sunblaze nodded her head, still not feeling very hungry, but bent her head over the mouse Smokesong had brought for her and started to eat it, slowly. She felt bad now that she realized that she had technically been starving her kitsnotfish.
