Foxstar woke up very early one morning. Her den was still fairly dark, but she didn't want to go back to sleep. Instead she sat up in her den, very importantly, and looked out of the mouth of her den.

Axel stirred when he heard Foxstar get up. The wind was cold as he approached the entrance to the den. "What's your problem?" he asked. He was curious, but everything he said came out kind of mean.

Foxstar was so important that she didn't flinch when cats randomly spoke to her out of nowhere. And she was used to Axel's tone of voice by now, so she knew that a lot of things he said came out mean. "I don't know. I guess I'm feeling a little... odd."

"How so?" Axel asked. He felt like this would be a long conversation, so he sat down and wrapped his tail around his paws to keep the wind away.

"I've been hungrier lately." Foxstar started, "But I didn't want to take more prey than anybody else-- yet I seem to be getting plumper..." she meowed, "Maybe there's something wrong with me."

Axel wasn't a stupid cat. He liked to play oblivious, it was like a fun game for him, and sometimes that was all he could do.
Slowly he said, "Well, if you're hungry just take more. There's plenty of cats. If you think there's something wrong, then you should go see one of those medicine cats. Rowanblaze or Briarpetal, yeah?"
He had all of the names of the cats here memorized already, but he didn't want to let on.

"Maybe I should..." Foxstar mewed, looking outside of her den again in the direction of the medicine cats den. She stared off into the distance for a long while before turning back to Axel. She considered him a good friend. And she LOVED him. "Would you come with me?"

Axel was surprised by this question. And not much surprised Axel. He normally would have told a cat off for trying to drag him along on something stupid, but he inwardly sighed and mewed, "Sure." When he stepped down from the highledge, he found that it was thankfully not raining. But the wind was very bitter.

"Thank you." Foxstar mewed to Axel and emerged from her den and jumped down the highledge. She made her way over to the medicine cats den, staying close to Axel. She didn't want to UNNERVE the Clan cats.

Axel realized that Foxstar was acting as a 'guard' of sorts. He was still a prisoner here. He pretended not to noticed and entered the medicine cats den. The swish of the brambles made Rowanblaze call out, "Who's there? Can't it wait until morning?"

It was at that moment that Foxstar realized that not everyone in camp would be awake. "I'm sorry Rowanblaze. I guess it could wait." wow. Jeez Rowanblaze. Dissing the leader like that, making her seem unimportant. You don't do that to Foxstar. She is always THE MOST IMPORTANT one.

Hearing his important leader's important voice, Rowanblaze quickly crawled out of his den and into the medicine cat clearing. "Oh, Foxstar!" he mewed quickly, "It's not problem. What can I do for you?"

Foxstar didn't know how important she was. "Well, I don't know... I've just been feeling a little strange lately. I can't quite explain it." she mewed, "But I feel... hungrier than usual. But of course, I don't want to take more than my fair share of prey, so I only get as much prey as normal..." she explained, "But I feel like I'm getting bigger!" poor Foxstar. So young and unknowing.

Rowanblaze gaped at Foxstar. If he didn't think the tom would leap on him and tear his throat out, Axel would have laughed at the look on his face. The medicine cat obviously didn't want to disrespect his leader, but both toms were thinking the same thing. 'How could she be so stupid?'
"Well," Rowanblaze mewed carefully, "You should take extra prey, Foxstar. It's alright. We always give queens extra prey." Then Rowanblaze disappeared into his den. Axel thought it was time to go, until the tom appeared again with some leaves in his mouth. "Eat these borage leaves. They'll help your milk come so they'll be ready for the kits."

Foxstar was taken aback by her medicine cat's words. "K-kits...?" it took her a while to recover before she said anything more. "I'm having kits? B-but I'm the leader I have important things to do and..." she had no idea how to have babies! Honestly, she was a little scared.
